Baby Wearing

It is so cool to wear little Maya. I love it! I did this with Adrian but I started later and I only had 2 types, a sling and a Bjorn. Now I already have a 3rd one, a wrap. I love them! They are for different occasions and depending on how long I need them for.

Es tan rico poder cargar a Maya con el portabebé o canguro o sling, me encanta! Hice lo mismo con Adrian pero empezé un poquitico más tarde y sólo tuve 2 tipos de cargador, uno tipo sling y otro tipo Baby Bjorn. Ahora tengo otro más, uno tipo wrap (no se como le dien en español) y me encantan todos!! Cada uno tiene su momento depende de cuando y para que lo use. 

An Adjustable Mesh Pouch from kangaroo korner: It’s easy to get on and off, baby fits really cozy and it’s very breathable. It can be wore inside the water. Cool thing is that Derek can wear it too cause it’s adjustable. The only thing is that if I wear it for too long (more than 2 hours) it will start to hurt my shoulder and back, so I only use it for occasions when I need to take her in and out fast and I know it wont be long.

Un cargador ajustable de tela tipo malla de la tienda kangaroo korner: Es facilísimo de usar, la meto y la saco en un dos por tres, la bebé se siente super acurrucadita, como es de malla le entra airecito y respira la tela y aparte se puede meter en el agua. También es chévere porque es ajustable y así Derek lo ajusta a su medida y lo usa. Lo único es que no lo puedo usar por mucho tiempo (más de 2 horas)  porque me cansa la espalda y el hombro, lo uso sólo cuando se que es por poco tiempo y cuando la tengo que meter y sacar rápido.

A Sleepy Wrap: The name of this wrap is excellent! as soon as Maya went in she fell sleep! This one takes a little more time to learn to wear and tie but as soon as you learn it becomes easier. It’s great on your shoulders and I can wear it for a looong time and wont get so tired.

El Sleepy Wrap: El nombre de este (algo así como portabebé de dormir) es perfecto! En cuanto metí a Maya la primera vez ahí se quedó rendida! Este toma más tiempo para aprender pero después de que aprendeses facilito. Es muy cómodo para los hombros y la espalda y lo puedo usar por hooooras y no me cansa tanto.

Infantino Easy Rider: I haven’t used this one yet because it will be better for when Maya is older. It’s a classic one like the Bjorn. This one is also good for Derek to use, although I know that the Ergo carrier is out there and it’s similar and it’s the most comfortable of this kind but it’s way more $$$$, wish we could have one too!!

Infantino Easy Rider: Este no lo he usado aún porque va a ser mejor para cuando Maya esté más grandecita. Es del estilo del Bbay Bjorn. También sirve más práctico para que lo use Derek aunque se que hay otro se este estilo que se llama Ergo carrier y parece ser muchísimo más cómodo y bueno para la espalda y para sostener al bebé, cuesta mucho más $$$$, nos encantaría tener uno!

Psss: Cool thing is that the position of the baby will adjust while she grows in all of them!

So, it’s like having different strollers for different occasions, it becomes very practical to me when I’m going to run some errands, just place her in and go, or when I’m at home and she wants to be held, place her in and I can be hands free to do something else at the same time (like blog or play with Adrian!).

I have to add that the baby wearing thing seems to be fairly new in this modern society, even though mothers used to do this naturally with fabrics long time ago. When I go out with Maya like this I always get the look, sometimes it’s a cute-look and sometimes it’s a wow-look but it kind of bothers me to feel like you’re been watched our judged because sometimes people come up to me and say WHAT? Is that a REAL baby in there? OMG?? — Oh and is it aloud to have her out like that? What about the germs?

Psss: Lo chévere de esto que se puede cambiar la posición del bebé a medida que crecen!

Es como tener muchos coches para diferentes momentos, es muy práctico a la hora de salir a hacer diligencias, me lo pongo, la meto a ella y listo. O cuando estoy en la casa y quiere que la cargue lo uso y así tengo las manos libres para hacer cualquier otra cosa (como bloguear o jugar con Adrian!). 

Quiero añadir que esto de cargar al bebé de esta manera parece ser bastante nuevo en nuestra sociedad moderna, aunque hace siglos que se ha usado por madres alrededor del mundo. Cuando salgo y cargo a Maya la gente siempre me mira raro, a veces me miran como diciendo ay que cuchi! a veces como Uao mira eso? pero me molesta un poco sentirme como bicho raro, a vces hasta me dicen cosas como QUE? Tienes un bebé de verdad ahí adentro? — Ay y crees que puedes tener el bebé así afuera, y que pasa con los gérmenes?
