I don’t think 4 years old is any age milestone right? But this time I felt different when Adrian turned a year older, I felt it sort of like a milestone. I see him so big but so small at the same time, with a mind of his own, learning at a 1000 miles per hour and just so big that I’m not going to be able to carry him for much longer. Every time I think about his birthday my eyes start getting all teared up. I can remember so clearly when I was pregnant with him but at the same time I can feel that has a while ago… Oh, it just makes me stop and look it him, hug him and kiss him many many times, as much as I can cause soon enough he’s going to be taller than me and go to college and… (sigh!)
Adrian celebrated his 4th birthday with a nice little party at home, Ninja Turtle themed, a jumper (one of his favorite things!) and his friends and family.
I’m not doing as well as I would like in terms of decorating and organizing, but it turned out nice and fun which is great. And during the party it’s very hard for me to take pictures, can’t really divide my head as much as I’d like. Thank goodness my sister took plenty of pictures and helped me out a lot, got the cake and got some Ninja Turtles decorations at an old Hollywood party store cause me I didn’t order them on time in the internet, in regular stores Ninja Turtles don’t really sell at this time!
A good moment with the 3 of us.
I did order the cute Ninja Turtle piñata, and Adrian came with me to pick it up, his eyes were glowing when he saw it, that sole moment when he saw that piñata is for me to keep forever (See! I warned you all!), he was so excited and happy, he told me thanks mami 1000 times and even hugged the piñata, I was a little scared that he would really want to hit it the next day! But everything went excellent.
More pictures of the party in my flickr.
Maya was there of course, I didn’t carry her at all that day!

What We Learned Today
December 3, 2010 at 7:09 pmHi Dariela–you are right, four is such a fun age, and they do grow up way too fast! My youngest is seven now and still seems so little to me, but when my oldest was seven she seemed so grown up! Part of it is because she's a girl, more mature, and as the oldest probably was more grown up at the same age, but part of it is that my perspective has changed–when you have a fourteen year old, seven IS still a baby! Anyway, enjoy your precious little ones. Every year brings new challenges and blessings, and it is a great joy to appreciate the here and now.
I hope you and your family have a great Christmas–I love the picture of my Uncle Dave with his grandbaby!

December 3, 2010 at 11:04 pmI still think every year is such a milestone for kids and parents to enjoy. I'm right there with ya. The fiesta was a ton of fun and I know Izzy enjoyed herself. The food was simple, yet incredible. The Sangria smelled lovely. TJ sure did love his 2 full cups of it.
