We love Curious George!

There are some cartoons that Adrian watches that I really can’t stand, and they are not bad for him or anything,  I just don’t enjoy them and simply don’t like them. But Curious George is one that I really like.

So when they offered us a package for the screening of the new season coming up next Monday Sept, 5th I said YES of course! Plus we don’t have regular TV or cable anymore (we use Netflix, internet and DVDs) so it came in handy, and the next season is about the Arts and latino culture, que cool!!

We have seen the new episodes several times already (maybe 100?), my favorite part of Curious George is how it really inspires the kids to be curious and find out more of what they talk about in the show. Sometimes Adrian watches the show without me knowing and, for example, he suddenly asks me about the clouds and why do they form and tells me all this info that he learned from the show. 

In the new episodes when George explores the Arts, I loved the one were George goes to the Opera (see a little video preview below) and he makes puppets that recreate the whole Hansel and Gretel Opera. I’m feeling like we need to make some kind of puppets soon here!

The pictures here are of the beautiful book they sent with the screening DVDs, did you know that the TV series is based on the Curious George books? I had no idea! This one I love because it has lots of stories in one book and it’s bilingual so I can read it to them (I only read to the kids in Spanish). Oh and I took Adrian’s picture when he was watching the show!

Hay algunas comiquitas (caricaturas) que Adrian le gusta ver que a mi la verdad no me gustan para nada, y no es que sean malas para el o nada por el estilo simplemente no me gustan. Pero pasa todo lo contrario con Curious George, la verdad es una de las que más me gustan, hasta me puedo sentar con el a disfrutarla. 

Así que cuando me ofrecieron un paquete para que diera mi opinión acerca de los nuevos capítulos que se estrenan a partir de este lunes 5 de Septiembre, yo encantada!! Además nosotros ahorita no tenemos ni los canales de televisión normales ni cable (usamos Nteflix, DVDs y la internet) así que llegaron en un momento perfecto! Y los nuevos capítulos son acerca de Arte y de la cultura latina, que chévere! 

Ya hemos vistos los DVDs como 100 veces, lo que más me gusta de Curious George es como de verdad inspira a los niños a ser curiosos y a explorar más acerca de lo que hablan en el show. Algunas veces Adrian ve el show sin yo saberlo y, por ejemplo, viene y me pregunta: Mami, qué son las nubes, de qué están hechas? Y me explica cositas chiquitas que aprendió de ver el show. 

En los nuevos capítulos cuando George explora las Artes hay uno donde George va a la Opera (arriba pueden ver un pequeño corto de este capítulo) y luego hace títeres que recrean toda la Opera de Hansel y Gretel. Ahora creo que pronto tenemos que hacer algún tipo de títeres aquí en la casa!

Las fotos en este post son del libro que también mandaron junto con los DVDs, ustedes sabían que la serie de la Tele está basada en los libros de Curious George? Yo me entero! Este libro que nos mandaron está muy lindo porque tiene muchos cuentos incluidos y es bilingüe por lo que yo se los puedo leer (usualmente les leo sólo en español). Y la foto de Adrian es de cuando estaba viendo Curious George!
