Ever since going to our school’s Family Art Night I’ve been wanting to do one at home and finally, I did it!

I love when art can be useful and not archived in a box forever, you want to hang it and display it right? That’s why I love this idea of DIY motivational posters, the kids are so proud of their art pieces plus they will be inspired every day when they look at their own poster creation.

For this art night, I was inspired by the movie SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE.

This movie has such great visuals, they mix 2D and 3D animation, it’s full of color and I love how it motivates kids to be unique. I consider it a perfect movie for all the family to watch together, we identified in many areas of the movie, one of my favorite parts is that they feature a mixed family, just like ours! And you can see the importance of family bonding between them.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is now available on Digital, Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD. Kids will LOVE making these DIY motivational posters with the printables, they can pick their favorite templates and make them unique!

FAMILY ART NIGHT – DIY MOTIVATIONAL POSTERS

I decided on two techniques for making our posters: Foam printing and Blow painting. You can do both or just one. Adrian and Maya couldn’t wait to make BOTH!

Also, to make it easier I made some fun printables that work as templates for making the posters. The quotes on the printables are taken from the movie! Here is another quote you could use: Everything you say and do creates an impact.

FOAM PRINTING POSTER INSTRUCTIONS

Supplies:

• Foam paper plates
• White printing paper rectangles cut to 4″ x 4.5″
• White poster board cut to 14″ x 10.5″
• Heavyweight construction paper in different colors cut to 4″ x 4.5″
• Heavyweight construction paper in different colors cut to 13″ x 9.5″
• Foam brushes and/or paint brushes
• Craft paints in different colors
• Glue sticks
• Plastic pen tops or something to “draw” your design on foam 
• Free Printables with motivational quotes, make sure to print them on cardstock

Instructions:

1. Pick your favorite printable first, put it aside.
2. Cut 4″ x 4.5″ rectangles out of the foam paper plates. These will be your “stamps”.
3. Decide what image would you like to “stamp”. We got inspired with some of the movie stills that you can check out down here on this post or you can have the movie on and search for your favorite part and draw something! It’s easier if the image you draw is simple, we did mostly spider webs, spiders and Adrian drew a Spider-Man!
4. Draw the image on a white paper rectangle.
5. Place a foam rectangle underneath your image and trace your image with the pen top making sure to mark the foam with pressure.
6. Remove the white paper and check your foam “stamp”. Re-trace some parts as necessary, you want to make sure you see grooves in all your lines.
7. Apply your paint color of choice to your foam stamp.
8. OPTIONAL step: Cut out some random shapes of the construction paper and glue them on top of the construction paper rectangles before stamping. (See Adrian’s poster steps for example).
9. Grab a color construction paper rectangle and stamp it with the foam stamp. Not too much pressure and don’t move it sideways. 
10. Remove the stamp and reveal your print!
11. Repeat 5 times from step 6 so you can make 6 tiles in total, don’t change the paint color but you may change the construction paper color.
12. Glue the printed paper tiles on your big color paper. 
13. Cut the image from your printable.
14. Glue it on top of the tiles.
15. Now glue it on the white poster board.

BLOW PAINTING POSTER INSTRUCTIONS

Supplies:

• Motivational poster templates printed on cardstock
• White printing paper
• Color cardstock cut to 12″ x 9.5″
• Craft paint in different colors
• Water
• Paintbrush
• Straws
• Scissors

Instructions:

1. Decide which poster you will make first, download printables here.
2. Trace the outline shape of the main image of your poster on white paper and cut it out. This will cover the center design to make sure you don’t get paint over it.
3. Place your mask on top of the image, you are now ready to paint!
4. Dilute your paint with water.
5. OPTIONAL step: Paint each quadrant of your poster with different paint colors using a paintbrush. 
6. Grab some paint with a paintbrush, then let some drops of paint on the paper by tossing it on top.
7. Blow with a straw in different directions. Make sure to hold your mask when you do this!
8. Repeat as many times as you want with different colors, moving the paper around as you wish. 
9. Let dry and glue to a color cardstock.

This art night was a success and the kids now have the posters hanging in their rooms which reminds them of the movie and inspires them every time they look at them.

Even Derek made his own, and while art is not his favorite thing he admits he has fun spending that time creating something together during family art night. We will have to do it again!

For now, we will be re-watching the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie and pick more favorite parts!

COMO HACER AFICHES MOTIVADORES PARA NIÑOS CON IMPRIMIBLES GRATIS DE SPIDER-VERSE

Siempre hemos ido a la noche de arte familiar que organiza el colegio, y desde entonces he querido hacer una en la casa, así que finalmente, ¡lo hice!

Me gusta mucho cuando el arte puede ser útil y no es nada más de guardarlo en una caja para siempre. ¿Hay que colgarlo y mostrarlo verdad? Es por eso que me encanta esta idea de afiches (o carteles) motivadores, los niños están muy orgullosos de sus obras de arte y se al verlos cada día obtendrán un poquito de inspiración.

Para esta noche de arte, me inspiré en la película SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE.

Esta película tiene unos visuales impresionantes, mezclan animación en 2D con 3D, está llena de color y me fascina cómo motiva a los niños a ser únicos. Considero que es una película perfecta para que toda la familia la vea junta. Nos identificamos en muchas áreas de la película, una de mis partes favoritas es que incluyen una familia mixta, ¡como nosotros! Y se puede ver la importancia de la unión familiar entre ellos.

NOCHE DE ARTE FAMILIAR – AFICHES MOTIVADORES PARA NIÑOS

Decidí usar dos técnicas para nuestros afiches: impresión con gomaespuma y técnica de soplado. Pueden hacer ambas técnicas o solo una. Adrián y Maya estaban muy emocionados para hacer las dos!

Para hacerlo más fácil, tienen los imprimibles que funcionan como plantillas para hacer sus afiches. ¡Las citas en los imprimibles son sacadas de la película!

INSTRUCCIONES PARA AFICHE DE IMPRESION CON GOMAESPUMA

Materiales:

1. Platos de gomaespuma
2. Papel bond cortado en rectángulos de tamaño 4″ x 4.5″
3. Cartulina blanca cortada a 14″ x 10.5″
4. Papel de construcción grueso en diferentes colores, cortado a 4″ x 4.5″
5. Papel de construcción grueso en diferentes colores, cortado a 13″ x 9.5″
6. Cepillos de gomaespuma y/o pinceles.
7. Pintura de manualidades (acrílico) en diferentes colores.
8. Pega de barra
9. Bolígrafos de plástico o algo para “dibujar” el diseño en la gomaespuma
10. Imprimibles gratuitos con citas motivacionales, asegúrense de imprimirlos en cartulina, no en papel

Instrucciones:

1. Decide cuál imprimible vas a usar y déjalo a un lado.
2. Recorta rectángulos de 4 “x 4.5” de los platos gomaespuma. Estos rectángulos serán tus “sellos”.
3. Decide qué imagen te gustaría “estampar”. Nosotros nos inspiramos con algunas de las imágenes de la película que puedes ver aquí en el medio de este post o puedes tener la película prendida y buscar tu parte favorita mientras la ves y dibujar algo. ¡Es más fácil si la imagen que dibujas es simple, nosotros hicimos principalmente telarañas, arañas y Adrian hasta dibujó un hombre araña!
4. Dibuja la imagen en uno de los rectángulos de papel bond.
5. Coloca un rectángulo de gomaespuma debajo de tu imagen y traza la imagen con la tapita del bolígrafo asegurándote de marcar bien la gomaespuma con bastante presión.
6. Quita el papel y revisa tu “sello” en la gomaespuma. Vuelve a trazar algunas partes según sea necesario directamente; asegúrate de ver surcos en todas sus líneas de tu dibujo.
7. Aplica la pintura que elijas a tu sello con un pincel.
8. PASO OPCIONAL: recorta algunas formas al azar del papel de construcción y pégalas sobre los rectángulos de papel de construcción antes de estampar. (Ver las fotos de los pasos del poster de Adri para entender mejor).
9. Estampa tu sello sobre un rectángulo de papel de construcción y estámpalo con tu sello de gomaespuma. No hagas demasiada presión y no lo muevas de lado a lado.
10. ¡Quita el sello y revela tu impresión!
11. Repite 5 veces desde el paso número 6 para que queden 6 cuadritos en total, no cambies el color de la pintura, pero puedes cambiar el color del papel de construcción.
12. Pega los cuadritos de papel impresos en tu papel de construcción grande (13″ x 9.5″).
13. Corta la imagen de tu imprimible.
14. Pégala encima de tu afiche de cuadritos.
15. Ahora pega el afiche en la cartulina blanca.

INSTRUCCIONES DE AFICHE CON TÉCNICA DE SOPLADO

Materiales:

• Plantillas para afiches motivadores impresos en cartulina
• Papel bond
• Cartulina de color cortada a 12 “x 9.5”
• Pintura de manualidades (acrílico) en diferentes colores.
• Agua
• Pinceles
• Pitillos o pajitas o popotes
• Tijeras

Instrucciones:

1. Decide qué afiche vas a hacer primero, descarga los imprimibles aquí.
2. Traza el contorno de la imagen principal de tu afiche en papel blanco y recórtalo (no tiene que ser muy detallada), es para cubrir el diseño del centro y asegurarnos de que no se pinte encima.
3. Coloca tu mascarilla sobre la imagen y así estarán listos para pintar
4. Diluye tu pintura con agua.
5. PASO OPCIONAL: pinta cada cuadrante en diferentes colores usando un pincel.
6. Agarra un poco de pintura con un pincel, luego deja caer unas gotas de pintura en el papel como tirándola encima.
7. Sopla la pintura que está en el papel con el pitillo en diferentes direcciones. ¡Asegúrate de sostener tu máscara cuando hagas esto!
8. Repite tantas veces como desees con diferentes colores, moviendo el papel según quieras que la pintura se esparsa.
9. Deja secar y pega todo el afiche a una cartulina de color cuando esté listo.

Esta noche de arte fue un éxito y los niños ahora tienen sus afiches colgados en sus cuartos, les recuerda a la película y los inspira cada vez que los ven.

Hasta Derek hizo uno también, y aunque el arte no es su cosa favorita, él admite que se divierte pasando ese tiempo creando algo juntos durante la noche de arte en familia. ¡Tendremos que hacerlo de nuevo!

Por ahora, volveremos a ver la película de Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse y ¡a elegir más partes favoritas!
