I was invited a couple of months ago to a very cool Ladies Night Out. It was actually IN a house and Marcela Valladolid was there cooking for all of us. The event was sponsored by Tequila Sauza so she the recipes she made were using Tequila! And of course she made drinks too!
This was so much fun! The best part was that I didn’t have to cook or go get anything for a potluck!
I also had fun taking pictures which was hard cause it was dark so the only picture I could grab of Marcela is blurry (scroll down), I just never ever like to use the flash!
On a side note I had met Marcela several years ago, it happens that my sister was in a show with her, Marcela used to make a show in Spanish called “Recetas con Sabor” (see picture below) were she was at latinos homes cooking their special family recipes, can you believe my sister did this? She cooked arepas and chupe plus she even made nice cards in the show.
Actually many of you know this already because you have seen us, I was also there with my mom at the end of the show pretending eating all the food they cooked! We don’t have the video of that but they still air it in many Latin countries and we get the call: Hey we saw you on TV! Ha ha! Fun, we got 5 min of fame thanks to my sister, gracias Dari 🙂
Ok, coming back to the LNO, my favorite dish were the Shrimp, so delicious, I ate many. And I did make them at home later on. I’m decided to bring the recipe here for you because I thought it was really easy, and I want to share, please make it and tell me what you think! I have to make them again, the family liked them!
I also had a favorite drink: Citrus Cooler Margarita, it’s a mix of tequila and white wine, I would never think of mixing these 2 together, in fact I usually never drink Tequila but this tastes so yummy! I haven’t made this one but I will soon, believe me!!
Psst: I was invited to this event sponsored by tequila Sauza and got to take home a goodie bag with Tequila and Marcela’s book, I was not payed or asked to write this post, all opinions are 100% my own.
