San Diego Beer and Wine Tasting Date with Details Matter App #30Datesin30Days

We won a date! Yes, I also participate in giveaways from time to time and this time it was through La Jolla Mom with Details Matter App. I thought this idea was super cool: 30 Dates in 30 Days.

The Details Matter App is an app that helps you find date ideas wherever you are, so to promote it they gave away 30 dates in San Diego. Only by looking at all the possible dates I was amazed and curious and wanted in, because there is so much to explore over here that I don’t know yet plus an excuse to have a date with Derek and do something different? Yes!

So we had to pick which date together with the actual day of the week they were offering it and we liked the Wine Train Tour idea offered by San Diego Beer and Wine Tours.

It lasts for about 5 hours, I was very excited because it was my very first time riding Amtrak. We rode the train to meet the tour guide in Carlsbad which is the start of the tour. I immediately loved the train, the one that had to ride is called the Coaster, it takes you to all the San Diego stations and it goes slower than the ones that travels to other cities.

I loved to sit on the top level of the train (there are 3 levels) and look at the scenery and take pictures. It felt like a little mini vacation in on our city. We started tasting wine at a restaurant in Carlsbad –Al Fresco– with some appetizers, then walked to another winery, Which Creek. Then we rode the train to Solana Beach station to a winery called Carruth, then back again to the train and we finished in Old Town at Hacienda de las Rosas winery.

Over in the last one we were able to choose either beer or wine and if you didn’t know, Derek loves beer and makes his own beer, that’s his hobby, so of course he chose beer and he loved the tasting.

We loved this date, it was something different that we wouldn’t of thought about, the people that we met were all tourists but isn’t it nice to do things like this in your own city? My favorite place that we visited was Los Cedros Avenue, it has cool design shops and nice little things to look around in, we are already planning on having a date in that little street just to check it out! Also looking at all the beaches through the train made us want to go and explore more of them.

I’m excited, I want to find more fun dates to do in San Diego! I’ll keep you posted of what we do next!

Degustación de vinos y cerveza en San Diego

Nos ganamos un sorteo! El sorteo era de una cita con tu pareja en San Diego (a date), y es que yo también participo de vez en cuando en sorteos de otros blogs; esta vez fué en el blog de La Jolla Mom con la aplicación Details Matter. Me pareció super chévere la idea: 30 Dates in 30 Days.

La app Details Matter consiste en dar ideas de diferentes citas o salidas (dates en inglés) en la ciudad en la que te encuentres, y para promocionarla decidieron regalarle 30 citas a 30 parejas. Nada más de ver la página todas las diferentes oportunidades de cosas chéveres que hacer en San Diego que iban a regalar yo ya estaba curiosa y porsupuesto me anoté de una, y es que hay tanto que hacer aquí en SAn Diego y cosas que aún yo no se, así que además una escusa para salir con Derek? Claro!!

Así que una vez que me avisaron que gané una me dieron a elegir en un calendario cual cita de todas las que tenían, nosotros elegimos un tour de vinos en el tren que lo hace San Diego Beer and Wine Tours.

El tour dura como 5 horas, yo estaba emocionada nada más por el hecho de que era la primera vez que me montaba en el tren (Amtrak). Lo agarramos desde el principio para encontrarnos con la guía del tour en la estación de Carslbad donde empezaba todo. Me encantó el tren desde que me monté, el que agarramos se llama Coaster, te lleva a todas las estaciones de San Diego y se devuelve, va más lento que el otro que va a otras ciudades.

Hay 3 niveles, nosotros nos sentamos en el nivel más alto, ahí hay muy buena vista del camino y se pueden tomar fotos, es muy bonito porque puedes ver toda la costa, se siente uno como que de mini vacaciones en tu propia ciudad. La degustación de vinos la empezamos en un restaurante italiano en Carslbad: Al Fresco, donde nos dieron aperitivos. Después caminamos ahí mismo a una bodega llamada Which Creek. Al terminar agarramos el tren hasta Solana Beach y fuimos a otra bodega de vinos llamada Carruth y teminamos en otra en Old Town que se llama Hacienda de las Rosas.

En la última bodega también había degustación de cervezas y por si no sabían, a Derek le gusta mucho la cerveza, y el hace su propia cerveza, así que el disfrutó bastante de la última degustación.

La verdad nos encantó este date, fué algo diferente lo cual nunca hubiéramos pensado hacer, la gente que conocimos eran todos turistas pero no es chévere poder hacer esto en tu propia ciudad? El lugar que más me gustó fué en Solana Beach, la calle Los Cedros, resula que tiene muchas tienditas chéveres con diseño interior, y cosas lindas, ya Derek y yo estamos planeando ir de regreso sólo a esta callecita él y yo solos otra vez. También al ver todas las playas en el camino del tren nos provocó explorar playas diferentes.

Me gustó mucho y ahora quiero checar la app a ver que otras ideas nos da para salir a disfrutar de un date, ya les mantendré al tanto!
