    Niki De Saint Phalle Exhibit in San Diego: My Favorite Artist!

    I took note of Niki’s work for the first time when I visited the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla, they have a couple of Niki de Saint Phalle sculptures there in the garden.

    I noticed her work because it is super colorful, it reminds me of Gaudí, which she mentions did inspire her work. And little did I know I had seen her work before in San Diego, like the famous Nikigator in Balboa Park, which I told you about and this huge amazing one!

    There is a lot of Niki De Saint Phalle’s art in San Diego because she lived here for the last years of her life. She was born in France, grew up in New York City, then lived in France, traveled to Spain, Italy, she says she believes she is a citizen of the world (check out her full story here) Continue Reading
