Delicious Everyday Desserts

Back in Caracas we don’t have strawberries available very easy, or any berry, because you know, we have tropical weather and those kind of fruits don’t grow easily. BUT, we have lots of different climates due to the country’s geography, so there is a cute little German Town called “Colonia Tovar” very close to Caracas that is on top of some  mountains and it’s cold over there so they can grow strawberries! The one favorite thing to do is go eat strawberries and cream over there. They sold them everywhere!

I love how living here we have access to strawberries all year around and I can make Strawberries and cream whenever I want!! It’s such an easy and delicious dessert! So when thinking about some everyday desserts made with COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, my mind went back to Venezuela and the “Colonia Tovar” strawberries. I know it’s pretty simple but it tastes yummy and it’s so versatile, I didn’t add any extras cause I didn’t have them at the time but I was thinking for the next time to add syrup, almond pieces, cookie pieces, chocolate pieces, the list is endless!

And of course, combining it with different fruits works too. One of my favorite fruits is papaya, so I made some Papaya Parfaits, simple layers of papaya and COOL WHIP. I had so much fun making these, I got to use my props and everything (I’ve bought a couple more things), love love love setting them up and taking the photos. I could do this all day, although I need an assistant to move around things and to clean the plates meanwhile I look through the camera 🙂

The other dessert I came up with is the delicious Apple Crumb Pie, I just got a store one and heated up a slice and then added the COOL WHIP, I kind of discovered COOL WHIP making this post, I liked it a lot, so easy to use and I don’t make elaborated desserts so often so adding a special touch of COOL WHIP to fruits or pies is so yummy!

At the end of my photo-shoot I took a couple of pictures with my iPhone and shared on Instagram. It’s funny cause I had some of the plates and props just laying on the little chair by the shoot and took the instant picture and thought it looked great so then took some more with the DSLR, this last picture I didn’t even arrange, but it loved it (the photo is this one below)!

En Caracas no se pueden comprar fresas así de fácil en todos lados porque como ya saben tenemos un clima tropical allá y esas frutas no crecen en ese clima. PERO, tenemos diferentes sitios climáticos en toda Venezuela y una de las montañas cerca de Caracas tiene un pueblito alemán muy lindo que se llma la Colonia Tovar, donde si cosechan fresas y además venden por todos lados las famosas fresas con crema. Ir ahí era obligatorio comer fresas con crema!

A mi me encanta como aquí hay fresas por todos lados fáciles de comprar y puedo comer las fresas con crema cuando quiera, es un postre super sencillo pero bien rico. Así que cuando pensé en postres del día a día con COOL WHIP Whipped Topping me trasladé en mi mente a las fresas de la Colonia Tovar  en Venezuela. Ya se, es bien sencillo pero es versátil también, yo no le agregué mas nada en la foto porque no tenía pero cuando lo haga de nuevo le puedo añadir pedacitos de almendra, sirop, pedacitos de galleta, pedacitos de chocolate y pare de contar!

Después, como tenía papaya en la casa que me gusta muchísimo, se me ocurrió hacer unos Parfaits de Papaya con el COOL WHIP, porqué no verdad? Me divertí tanto haciendo estos postres, tenía mis props disponibles y perfectos para la ocación (he comprado más cositas), me fascinó mucho mucho diseñar la foto y tomarlas. La verdad pudiera hacer esto todo el día aunque necesitaría un asistente que me ayudara a mover cosas y a limpiar lo que se ensucie para que salga bien en la foto!

El otro postre que se me ocurrió y que me encanta es el Pie de Manzana, el que tiene crumbs, lo compré ya hecho en el automercado, calenté un pedazo y le puse el COOL WHIP encima. La verdad es que descubrí el COOL WHIP haciendo este post y me fascinó, ayuda a hacer uns postrecitos muy ricos y fáciles, yo no cocino postres complicados muchas veces y un toque especial del COOL WHIP es muy rico en frutas o pies!

Al final de mi Photo-Shoot tomé unas foticos rapiditas con el iPhone para Instagram. Resultó que tomé lo primero que vi, que eran unas cuantas cosas que tenía en una sillita al lado de la mesa donde estaba todo bien arregladito y resulta que me gustó como se veía así que le tomé un par de fotos así con la cámara grande, no lo arreglé ni nada pero me encantó como se ve (la foto es la que está arriba con el fondo azul)!
