LéaLA Bookfair {Calle 13 Concert Giveaway}

We are super ready to go to this year’s Léa LA, the Spanish Language Book Fair in Los Angeles!  And even more after the Spanish immersion school news! We will be going to LA specifically to assist all day Friday 11. I’m taking Adrian again and probably my mom and my sis.

The specifics are: Friday, Saturday  and Sunday – May 11, 12, and 13, 2012, Hours: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. – Free admission – Los Angeles Convention Center.

I still remember when we went last year, I loved it and Adrian did too. I still read him the books that I got for him (see below) and this time I’m prepared to get more. The only sad part is that I haven’t read mine yet 🙁 See, I thought it would help me read a little more but it didn’t, I barely read books! I need help!!! Well, hopefully I get more excited this time by going to the fair, I need to set the example!

This year it looks amazing, they have a full schedule, there is something going on all the time! They will have top authors presenting books in Spanish of all kinds including self-help, fiction and non-fiction, presenting conferences and talks and not just on literature, but books on cooking, sports, and current affairs. All in SPANISH! 

The program will include authors of international renown such as Sergio Ramirez, Paco Ignacio Taibo, Enrique Krauze, James Ellroy, Francisco Martin Moreno, Ernesto Cardenal, Gerardo Pina-Rosales and more.

What I’m most looking forward to is the story reading for kids, the children’s theater and the children’s workshops, basically all the children’s activities! Last year we also went on a Friday and all the kids activities where on the weekend, so this time I’m very happy there is plenty for Adrian to go check out that day. I will come back and show you what we get. I really recommend that if you have a bilingual family like ours to go to the fair, it will help them to see all these people speak Spanish and see all the books in Spanish, it will re-enforce, every little helps!

Estamos super listos para ir a la Feria del Libro en Español LéaLA en Los Angeles, y más aún después de la noticia del nuevo colegio en Español de Adri. Iremos a LA específicamente para asistir a la feria el viernes 11. Me llevo a Adrian y probablemente a mi mamá y a mi hermana.

Este año se ve buenísima, van a tener un programa lleno, se ve que a toda hora hay algún tipo de evento. Van a tener a grandes autores presentando libros en Español de todo tipo incluyendo de autoayuda, de ficción, presentarán charlas y talleres no nada más en literatura pero también en libros de cocina, deportes y acontecimientos actuales. TODO en ESPAÑOL!!

El programa incluirá autores conocidos internacionalmente así como Sergio Ramirez, Paco Ignacio Taibo, Enrique Krauze, James Ellroy, Francisco Martin Moreno, Ernesto Cardenal, Gerardo Pina-Rosales y más.

Concerts! / ¡Conciertos!

Lo que más me emociona de ir a ver es los cuenta cuentos de niños, el teatro infantil y los talleres para niños, basicamente todas las activcidades de los niños! El año pasado fuimos también un Viernes y las actividades no empezaban sino hasta el sábado así que esta vez no nos las perdemos! Luego vengo y els cuento como nos fué y lo que compramos. De verdad les recomeindo que si tienen una familia bilingüe vayan a la feria, les ayudará mucho a los niños ver a mucha gente hablando español y viendo tanto libros en español, cualquier paso ayuda!

Los libros no son todo, también tienen conciertos buenos! Vean aquí arriba los que tienes, yo creo que iremos al del circo.
