Washed Ashore Art Exhibit

The Living Coast at Chula Vista is running this amazing exhibit that I had the opportunity to see while Adrian was enjoying his camp there. As I mentioned before I wanted to dedicate a whole post mostly because I have so many photos and because it deserves it.

I was really impressed, moved and inspired by these sculptures. They were created by the artist Angela Haseltine Pozzi, ALL the materials were collected from beaches in oregon, I can’t believe it!! I saw a pacifier, lots of toys, flip flops and many more things that really made me think. They also wrote about what all of us can do to help eliminate this pollution. It’s so sad how some fish think that it’s food and eat it, or they die because they get stuck in cords and cords of stuff.

If you are not in San Diego, the exhibit is going to go around the world after September 3rd! It might go near you one day! Seeing it in person will change at least 1 habit of your use of disposables (take a look at some ideas listed on a photo below), I guarantee it! And take a very close look of these photos, I think seeing them might make you change another one!

El Centro de Naturaleza “The Living Coast” en Chula Vista tiene ahorita la exposición llamada “Washed Ashore” la cual tuve la oportunidad de ver mientras que Adri hacía su campamento allí. Y como lo comenté anteriormente, le quise dedicar un post entero porque tengo tantas fotos y porque se la expo está tan buena que se lo merece.

Me impresionó mucho, me movió y me inspiró. Las esculturas fueron creadas por la artista Angela Haseltine Pozzi y TODOS los materiales fueron encontrados en las playas de Oregon, que impresión! Vi tantas cosas, chupones, muchos juguetes, cholas y mucho mucho más lo cual me hizo pensar. También tienen mucha información a lo largo de la exposición acerca de como ayudar a bajar esta cotaminación en los oceanos. Es tan triste aprender como peces se comen cositas creyendo que es comida o como se enredan en marañas de cuerdas de pescar y objetos adentro del agua y mueren.

Si no te encuentras en San Diego, la exposición estará aquí hasta el 3 de septiembre y después empezará una gira mundial así que ojalá la puedas ver en tu ciudad, yo les garantizo que si la ven en vivo cambian aunque sea un hábito de su uso de desechables (vean una lista de ideas en esta foto quí abajo)  y vean etas fotos con detalle, si lo hacen y se dan cuenta de la cantidad de basura a lo mejor entonces cambian más!
