Las month I had the opportunity of going to New Orleans to assist the Niche Mommy conference. I went with my sister to teach a Photoshop workshop thanks to Collective Bias who sponsored us. It was the first time we taught our workshop live and it was great! (Check some of the before/After photos along this post which you can learn at our Photoshop web-classes too)
I asked my sister to write a little bit of her experience with our workshop and at Niche Mommy, here is what she wrote:
It was such a great experience for me to get out and meet people face to face. To feel their energy and interact live with them during and after the class was priceless. I felt that I went to teach this specific Photoshop class to bloggers, but came back with so much more.
First off we learned more about our audience and our students. We took the time to ask people what they liked and disliked about the class, weather they had any suggestions and/or weather they would take another class with us or not. It’s amazing how much you can learn about your own business just by asking your audience.
I also learned extensively in each and everyone of the sessions I took, including how to use social media relationships as business investments, importance of blog content, how to make my elevator pitch, etc.
We are really excited about Niche Mommy 2013 and we are also actively scouting more venues and conferences in 2013 to teach our Photoshop classes and some new custom classes too!

El mes pasado tuve la oportunidad de ir a Nueva Orleans a la conferencia de Niche Mommy. Fuí con mi hermana a dar uno de nuestros talleres de Photoshop, gracias a Collective Bias que nos patrocinó. Fué la primera vez que dimos nuestro taller en vivo, usualmente son online. (Vean en este post ejemplos de fotos de antes/despues, que pueden aprender en los talleres que tenemos online también)
Le pedí a mi hermana que escribiera un poquito de su experiencia en el taller y en Niche Mommy y aquí está lo que ella escribió:
Fué una buena experiencia para mí de salir y conocer en persona a la gente. El sentir la energía y poder interactuar con ellos durante la clase fué una experiencia única. Sentí que fuimos a enseñar este curso específico de Photoshop para Bloggers pero regresé con mucho más.
Primero que todo aprendimos mucho más acerca de nuestra audiencia y de nuestros estudiantes. Nos tomamos el tiempo de preguntarles que les gustó de la clase y que no, si tenían algunas sugerencias y si tomarían otra clase con nosotras. Es impresionante cuento se puede aprender del mismo negocio de uno sólo con preguntar a nuestra propia audiencia.
También aprendí muchísimo en cada una de las sesiones a las asistí, aprendí de cómo usar las relaciones en social media como inversión de negocios, la importancia del contenido de los blogs, de como hacer mi presentación de ascensor, etc, etc.
Estamos muy emocionadas para la Niche Mommy del 2013 y también estamos buscando otros lugares y conferencias donde dar nuestras clases de Photoshop en el 2013 así como desarrollando nuevas clases más específicas!
Gracias hermana! Como han podido ver, en este post puse fotos que capturé en Nueva Orleans y de la conferencia pero tengo muchisísimas más que les quiero compartir, la verdad Nueva Orleans es super fotogénica y llena de cultura, estén pendientes de más fotos!
