I was invited to another wonderful Nestlé event with other bloggers. This time it was hosted by my friend Ericka from Nibbles and Feasts and we were invited to cook! We made tamales and empanadas which are a typical holiday latin food. I don’t know where the tamales originated from, I think it’s mostly from Mexico but many other countries have their own version of the tamal which helps us all identify with it. In Venezuela we have something similar, it’s called Hallaca (see photo on the bottom of the post) and one day I might make them!
I had never make tamales before and it was really nice to make it together with other friends, they are easier than I thought. We made 3 types of tamales (including a chocolate one!) and 3 types of empanadas, they were all absolutely delicious and I feel like making them again at home another time.
My absolute favorite was the Chicken and Poblano Tamales with Cilantro Crema. The perfect touch for this is the Cilantro Cream, oh my! And the cream is the easiest thing to make! Cilantro, Media Crema and salt in the blender! You can find the Chicken Tamales recipe here and if you make them let me know how they end up! You can find lots of more delicious and easy recipes there as well.
Nestlé Basket Giveaway!
Nestlé is giving away a nice basket for one of you with some Nestlé products a beautiful Recipe Book that is bilingual and has delicious delicious recipes, I think I want to make them all too!
To enter the giveaway follow the instructions in the Rafflecopter located at the bottom of the post. Good luck! Giveaway ends Wednesday January 2nd 12am ET.
