During this Summer we had the opportunity to visit some of  La Jolla tide pools and we are fascinated. The truth is we had never been purposely on that adventure and we had such a great time, it was an activity that we did during Camp Mami that I organize every year.

Since I’ve been doing (and posting) lots of activities lately in La Jolla I got in touch with the people from LaJolla.com and they welcomed me as a guest blogger! So you can find all of our La Jolla tide pools over there.

I tell you exactly where we went, some tips for parking, all the sea creatures that we found, what to take in your adventure to the tide pools and of course some photos. The thing is that, as always, I have sooo many pictures I love that did not fit over there and I needed to come and share them with you here too.

The highlights of our adventure to the La Jolla tide pools were:

• We saw a sea star!
• Mayita holding the sea hares!!
• What looks like a carpet of moss on the rocks
• The amazing group of little tide pools that are all almost perfect circles
• The barnacles that move!

PS: I want to buy this field guide that helps identify all the creatures in the tide pools, in case you go, I recommend it too!

AVENTURA EN LAS PISCINAS DE MAREA DE LA JOLLA

Este verano tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar algunas de las piscinas de mareas en La Jolla y quedamos fascinados. La verdad nunca habíamos ido y la pasamos cheverísimo, fue una actividad que hicimos durante el Camp Mami que organizo todos los años.

Como he estado haciendo bastantes actividades en La Jolla me puse en contacto con la gente de LaJolla.com y me recibieron de bloguera invitada! Entonces todos los datos de nuestra aventura los puedes encontrar en mi artículo allá (aunque sólo en inglés! **Si tienen Chrome, lo pueden traducir fácil con estas instrucciones**).

Por allá les cuento exactamente a qué sitios fuimos, algunos tips para estacionarse, todas las creaturas marinas que encontramos, lo que deben llevar en su aventura a piscinas de marea y porsupuesto varias fotos. Lo que sucede es que como siempre tengo un montononón de fotos que allá no cabían y no quería dejar de compartirlas con ustedes aquí también.

Los highlights de nuestra aventura a las piscinas de marea fueron:

• Ver una estrellita de mar!
• Mayita gozando agarrando las babosas
• Lo que parece una alfombra de musgo en las rocas
• Las piscinitas chiquitas que se hacen todas casi que en círculos
• Los percebes que se movían!

Bueno, por ahora los dejo, vayan y vean todo el post que quedó muy chévere y si están en San Diego con niños, vayan a las piscinas de marea, no se arrepentirán!

PD: Yo me quiero comprar esta guía de campo que parce que ayuda mucho a identificar todas las creaturas en las piscinas de marea, por si ustedes van, se los recomiendo también!
