Before writing this post I looked to see if I had already written about it, and yes I had! I already wrote about The New Children’s Museum here before but it doesn’t matter I thought. I have new experiences and lots of new photos and I want need to share with you how great it is!
This time we went thanks to the Library, you can reserve a pass for the whole family to go for free to the museum, when it’s your turn they let you know and you have to go pick up the pass like if it is a book, then use it and return it on time, excellent! This helped a lot because otherwise the admission for a family of 4 is not in our budget right now.
As soon as you get to the New Children’s Museum there are colors everywhere and my kind of colors: bold and vibrant; I feel at home there! Psst, you want to know something? I took the picture of MamiTalks’ header at this museum, at one of the activities! That’s how much I love it’s colors!
I learned from their website that they commission contemporary artists to create pieces with tactile, physical and participatory elements, opening up a world of art to children through opportunities to observe and create. I think that’s why it’s so different, because the artists make special emphasis on all that.
Well, even though the museum is not that huge, the kids have SO MUCH fun with every single detail there is for them to do.
They base all the exhibits on a theme and this time they have the food theme; the ropes with balls was the kid’s favorites and those are oranges and whenever they swinged or walk around the cords, some sounds started playing, it was cool.
In the first floor outside they played with clay and then they painted that yellow structure (see photos), that was fascinating! If you see it with some detail that is a small windmill which they have had for years there and every week they change the colors for kids to paint over and over and over, so it’s taking a whole other meaning with the paint layers!
Dentro del Museo de los niños en San Diego
Antes de escribir este post miré a ver si ya había escrito aquí acerca de este museo y si lo hice! Ya he escrito sobre el Museo de los niños aquí antes, pero no importa pensé, tengo nuevas experiencias y un montón de fotos nuevas y quiero o mejor dicho TENGO QUE compartir con ustedes lo chévere que es!
Esta vez fuimos gracias a la Biblioteca, se puede reservar un pase para toda la familia para ir gratis al museo, y cuando es tu turno para el pase, te avisan para que lo busques tal cual como un libro, entonces te dan como unos 10 días para que vayas al museo cuando puedas y luego lo tienes que devolver, es muy chévere! Esto nos ayudó mucho porque de lo contrario la admisión para una familia de 4 no está en nuestro presupuesto en este momento.
En cuanto llegas al Museo de los niños hay muchos colores por todas partes y son colores que me encantan, vibrantes y fuertes, me siento como en mi casa! Además, ¿quieren saber algo? Tomé la foto que está en la cabecera de MamiTalks en este museo, era una de las actividades! ¡Eso es lo mucho que amo sus colores!
Aprendí leyendo en su página web que ellos piden a artistas contemporáneos para que diseñen piezas con elementos táctiles, físicas y de participación, abriendo el mundo del arte a los niños a través de oportunidades para observar y crear. Creo que es por eso que es tan diferente, ya que los artistas hacen énfasis especial en todo esto.
A pesar de que el museo no es tan grande, los niños se divierten muchísimo con cada detalle que hay para ellos.
El museo diseña todas las exposiciones sobre un mismo tema y esta vez tienen el tema de los alimentos; las cuerdas con las bolas fue la parte favorita de los nenes, las bolas supuestamente son naranjas y siempre que se guindaban o caminar alrededor de las cuerdas podías oír sonidos y música, estaba muy chévere.
En el primer piso jugaron con arcilla y luego pintaron esa estructura amarilla (ver las fotos), que es fascinante! Si te fijas bien es como un molino de viento pequeño y una carreta que han tenido durante años allí y cada semana cambian los colores para que los niños pinten una y otra vez encima de cada color, por lo que con el tiempo las capas de pintura la han ido convirtiendo en algo diferente!
