Holidays are here and I am always up for doing crafts, making handmade presents and decorating! This time I teamed up with Straight Talk to show you how to make these pretty snow globes as holiday gifts.
You can get all these supplies in Walmart. You can use jars from mayonnaise, jam or sauce, (make them all different sizes!) or you can buy a set of canning jars at Walmart too.
One of the fun parts of making these snow globes is that you can call or text your family or friends that you are thinking of giving these to and ask them what are their favorites for the holiday season, is it Santa? reindeers? winter forest? For example, we have someone in our family who LOVES snowmen! There are plenty of choices available.
It’s easy to go to Walmart’s mobile site and search for holiday ornaments or holiday village figurines to get an idea of what they have, then go to the store and get all of the supplies there, browse the ornaments too and make sure you get the figurines small enough to fit your jars.
While you are making them at home snap pictures of the kids during the process with your Straight Talk phone, you can also print these photos and include them in the gift to the lucky person that will be receiving the snow globe! Here are the instructions to make them:
HOW TO MAKE SNOW GLOBES WITH JARS
Supplies:
- Jars of different sizes
- Mini fake trees
- Mini holiday village figures or ornaments
- Gold spray paint (optional)
- Glycerin
- Glitter (chunky silver or white works best)
- Glue gun
- Fake holiday plants
Instructions:
- If you are working with a food jar that has lettering on the lid you can spray paint it with gold, otherwise, omit this step. I got this set of 12 canning jars that Walmart sells, they don’t have designs on them, I think they are the perfect ones for this project!
- Decide which ornaments or figures you will set together in each snow globe, test them placing them on the lid and then set the jar on top. Make sure that the figures are on top of a little stand since the lid will not let you see the very bottom.
- Use the glue gun to stick together the figures with trees and or plants, then glue it all to the lid. If you need to make the figures even taller use a lot of hot glue underneath the figures to make a stand out of the glue. Let it dry.
- Add water to the jar (almost to the rim, leaving just a tiny bit of space), then add several drops of glycerin (this makes the glitter drop slower) and then add lots of glitter. Mix it with a spoon. (Don’t worry if the glitter looks stuck to the top of the water, it will still work)
- Place the lid with the figures on top the jar and close really really tight.
- Decorate with a ribbon if you like!
There is that sense of accomplishment and being proud that comes after making something that is so special, even more, if you are giving it as a gift! For the kids, this feeling is bigger. Imagine what the kids feel when they know they made something with their own hands to give someone else, and the receiver feels extra special too, that’s why I love love making things!!

CÓMO HACER GLOBOS DE NIEVE CON FRASCOS

Las navidades ya están aquí y yo estoy siempre lista para hacer manualidades, dar regalitos hechos a mano y para decorar! Esta vez me asocié con Straight Talk para mostrarles cómo hacer estos globos de nieve bonitos para dar de regalos navideños.
Todos los materiales se pueden conseguir en Walmart. Pueden utilizar frascos de mayonesa, mermelada o de salsa, (¡háganlos todos de tamaños diferentes!) O pueden comprar un set de frascos para conservas que tienen en Walmart también.
Una de las partes divertidas de hacer estos globos de nieve es que se puede llamar o textear a la familia o a los amigos a los que tenemos pensando dar los regalitos para preguntarles cuáles son sus cositas favoritas de las navidades, ¿es Santa Claus? ¿O los renos? ¿Un bosquecito en invierno? Por ejemplo tenemos a alguien en nuestra familia que adora los muñecos de nieve. Hay un montón de opciones disponibles.
¡Aplica spray dorado a las tapas si necesitas! – Corta el aro si tienes un adornito
Es muy fácil ir a la página web de Walmart en el celular y buscar adornos navideños o figuritas de esas de invierno navideño para tener una idea de lo que ofrecen. Luego ir a la tienda y comprar todos los suministros allí, explorar los adornos también y asegurarse de obtener las estatuillas lo suficientemente pequeño como para caber sus tarros.
Mientras que usted está haciendo ellos en imágenes a presión casa de los niños durante el proceso con el teléfono Straight Talk, también se puede imprimir estas fotos e incluirlos en el regalo a la persona afortunada que será la recepción de la bola de nieve! Aquí están las instrucciones para que sean:
COMO HACER GLOBOS DE NIEVE CON FRASCOS
Materiales:
- Frascos de diferentes tamaños
- Mini arbolitos
- Mini figuras o adornitos de navidad
- Pintura en aerosol color Oro (opcional)
- Glicerina
- Escarcha (color plata o blanco, mientras más gruesa mejor)
- Pega de silicona
- Plantitas artificiales de adornos navideños
Instrucciones:
- Si estás usando un frasco de comida que tiene algo impreso en la tapa se puede rociar con pintura dorada, de lo contrario omite este paso. Yo conseguí este set de 12 frascos de conserva que Walmart vende, no traen ningún diseño, por eso me parece que son perfectos para este proyecto.
- Decide qué adornos o figuras vas a poner en cada globo de nieve, pruébalos colocándolos sobre la tapa, y luego pon el frasco encima a ver si te cerrará bien. Asegúrate de que las figuras estén encima de un stand ya que si están directamente sobre la tapa, puede que al cerrarla esta misma no te permita ver la parte inferior.
- Utiliza la pega de silicona para pegar las figuritas con los árboles y las plantas, luego pega todo a la tapa. Si necesitas subir las figuras aún más, puedes usar bastante pega caliente por debajo de las y así crear un pequeño stand. Déjalo secar.
- Añade agua al frasco (casi hasta el borde, deja sólo un poquito de espacio), luego añade unas gotas de glicerina (esto hace que la caída de la escarcha sea más lenta) y luego añade un montón de escarcha. Mezcla con una cuchara. (No te preocupes si la escarcha parece pegada a la parte de arriba del agua, igual funciona una vez que se mezcla bien)
- Coloca la tapa con las figuritas en la parte de arriba del frasco y cierra muy, muy apretado.
- Decora con una cinta y un lacito si lo deseas!
Hay un sentido de logro y de orgullo que ocurre después de hacer algo tan especial, aún más si lo damos de regalo. Para los niños este sentimiento es más grande. Imagínense lo que los niños sienten cuando saben que hacen algo con sus propias manos para regalar a otra persona, y el que recibe se siente muy especial también, es por eso que me encanta hacer cositas así!!
