Last Day of 1st Grade

These moments in life always catch me off-guard but I love them. First and last days of school are those little stepping stones that the kids go by that might seem something normal but they’re not, finishing a school year is something big! We all learned something, we all grew in the family, we all worked hard, we all met new friends, we went through ups and downs, homeworks, organizing and many more things. 

All in all this year was great for Adrian, his reading and writing improved SO SO MUCH, I am amazed at the way he learns, I mean, he’s only being taught in Spanish 100% all day and he already reads English and Spanish fluidly, he is reading those chapter books (Like Captain Underpants) in 2 days and he enjoys it.

I know he also feels it, he’s been excited and sad at the same time this week, he keeps telling me he doesn’t want school to end because he doesn’t want to leave his teacher or his friends but I know he’ll be excited for summer pretty quick!

This week was full of activities, for the first time ever Adrian participated in a play, all in Spanish: The Wizard of OZ, he was the Lion. Another day the school had a multicultural dance celebration, his class represented Greece, we enjoyed everything.

All these little events are what makes being a Mami so fascinating, I feel so proud and happy that my heart might explode! It is hard to see them grow but it is so awesome too… The wonderful contradictions of life!

I’ve seen these photos of First and Last day of school with the same clothes and taken at the same place which I love so I didn’t plan them but I tried to repeat them, it’s so fun to have them!

Estos momentos de la vida siempre me agarran un poquito desprevenida, pero me encantan. El primer y último día de clases son esos pequeños escaloncitos que los niños toman y pueden parecer normales, pero no lo son… ¡Terminar un año escolar es algo grande! Todos aprendimos algo, todos crecimos en esta familia, todos trabajamos duro, conocimos nuevos amigos, pasamos por altos y bajos, hicimos tareas, proyectos, arte, organizamos y muchas cosas más. 

En total, este año fue muy bueno para Adrian, su lectura y escritura mejoró MUCHÍSIMO, me asombra la manera en que aprende, es decir, a él sólo le enseñan en español al 100% durante todo el día en el colegio y el ya lee Inglés y español con fluidez, está leyendo esos libros de capítulos (como el capitán calzoncillos) casi que en 2 días y lo disfruta mucho.

Yo sé que él también lo siente, ha estado emocionado y triste al mismo tiempo esta semana, me dice que no quiere que la escuela se acabe porque no quiere dejar a su maestra o a sus amigos, pero sé que se va a emocionar bien rápido ¡en lo que empieze las vacaciones!

Esta semana estuvo llena de actividades, por primera vez en la Adrian participó en una obra de teatro, toda en español: El mago de Oz, fue el León y estuvo impresionante. Otro día, la escuela tuvo un baile de celebración multicultural, su clase representó a Grecia, ¡por supuesto disfrutamos de todo todito!

Todos estos pequeños eventos son lo que hacen el ser una mamá tan fascinante, ¡me siento tan orgullosa y feliz de que mi corazón va a explotar! Es difícil verlos crecer, pero es tan increíble… ¡Las maravillosas contradicciones de la vida!

He visto mucho estas fotos del primer y último día de clases con la misma ropa y en el mismo lugar que me encantan, así que no lo planeé bien esta vez pero traté de repetir, es bien chévere, ya lo planearé mejor para el año que viene!
