Recently we got invited by Great Wolf Lodge to spend the weekend celebrating Día del Niño, what an honor! The resort has been here in SoCal for about a year and it was our first time there. It’s a hotel with an indoors water park!

In short, let me tell you, we were not disappointed, we LOVED it and recommend it for families with young kids. There is SO MUCH to do there, it’s completely worth it.

So today I want to give you the details with 21 things to do at Great Wolf Lodge, here is the list:

1. CHOOSE FROM A VARIETY OF FAMILY SUITES
There are themed suites and regular suites, they can accommodate from a small family to a very large one. The themed ones have a special area for the kiddos with bunk beds! We stayed at a regular Family Suite and I feel the size was pretty good, it even had a sofa and a table plus a fridge and microwave (perfect if you want to take some snacks or extra food).

2. TAKE PHOTOS WITH WILEY AND VIOLET
As soon as you arrive you’ll learn all about the character family from the Lodge, we saw Wiley and Violet several times and didn’t miss an opportunity to hug them and take photos. With the welcome packet, we received a set of wolf ears too that Maya and Adrian wore all the time.

3. VISIT THE CREATION STATION
Oh, the Creation Station! This is where you can choose your favorite character and make it come to life. Choose an outfit and add accessories. Maya chose Violet the wolf with a hiking outfit and Adrian chose Wiley the wolf with a swimming outfit. They even changed their outfit each night for sleeping of course!

4. PLAY MAGICQUEST
Magicquest starts with a special wand that includes special powers unique for each kid. Basically, there are lots of Magicquest stations around the resort and with the wand, the kids play a live-action game! Adrian loved this and we let him go around some floors by himself to play his game.

5. CHOOSE FROM LOTS OF DINING OPTIONS
There is an a la carte restaurant and a buffet-style restaurant. There is also a pizza place with sandwiches and salads and a place with pastries and fresh juice. There are places to eat all around, also more inside the waterpark.

We loved that there were cocktails and beer available in the waterpark. And also, they let you into the waterpark with any food you buy inside the resort. That was a must for me, I wanted to sit and enjoy a treat while the kids were in the water (See point number 6!).

6. SAVOR GREAT COFFEE
As a coffee addict, I was so excited to see there was well, good coffee! LOL. They have a Dunkin Donuts in the resort and it gets full every morning! There is a huge line and you know they offer lots of coffee options. I waited until a little later and got myself my favorite iced latte and enjoyed it with Derek at point number 14.

7. ENJOY THE EXCLUSIVE WATER PARK 
The fact that your room includes entrance to the water park is awesome, PLUS, it’s open from 9am to 9pm. You can enjoy several hours and then go and have fun with other attractions or rest in your room and then come back. It’s open only to resort guests which make it very family friendly, I really like the family vibe inside the water park.

8. WATER OBSTACLE CHALLENGES
It’s a fun area where kids and adults can balance on floating logs and lily pads and hold on to hanging nets trying to get across the pool. Maya and Adrian both did it several times and of course fascinated!

9. FUN TODDLERS AREA
Such a cute place for the babies and toddlers, my kiddos didn’t use this area but I remember the days, this is essential.

10. SURF SIMULATOR
Adrian loved this, I think it’s a great option for the older kids (9 and up).

11. WAVE POOL
This pool is just a fun way to spend some time in the water relaxing, it was one of our go-to’s.

12. HAVE FUN AT THE LAZY RIVER
I think this should be called the not-so-lazy river because it goes pretty fast! Out of all the waterpark attractions, this is the one we spent the most time at. Derek and the kids played tag in there and had a blast!

13. TREAT THE KIDS TO THE SCOOPS SPA 
Everything is themed with sweets and ice cream, they offer different packages for kids only or for adults and kids. Maya got a special tiara and sash, an ice cream flavored lotion sampling, hair scent and lip gloss application.

14. RELAX IN THE OUTDOOR POOL 
Having this option is really nice because you can feel the sunshine and outside air for a while. In SoCAL it doesn’t get so cold so I bet it’s not bad during winter as well.

15. DELICIOUS OUTDOOR RESTAURANT
When you are at the Great Wolf Lodge you need to eat at the Grizzly Jack’s Bar and Grill, that was my favorite place, you can enjoy the outdoors for a while and eat yummy food. Derek had a beer and I got to drink my coffee while the kids were playing in the pool.

16. GO TO THE XD THEATER
This theater has motion thrill rides, they are super fun!! The kids got to go in one of them with my friend Vanessa’s kids, it lasts for about 10 minutes, we were able to watch them outside, they wanted to do more movies as soon as they got out!

We had a special kid’s activity for día del niño, they made bag piñatas! – Tuvimos una actividad especial para celebrar el día del niño, los nenes hicieron piñatas con bolsas.

17. WATCH THE INTERACTIVE STORYTIME
They have a cute show with characters that move and then a staff member comes and reads a giant book, it’s very magical, I loved to see the kids participating in this.

18. PLAY FAMILY BOWLING
A cute little bowling alley with smaller balls easy for the whole family.

19. PARTICIPATE IN THE DAILY ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS
They always have plenty of activities like face painting and crafts every day at certain hours. The kids did a mini piñata since it was Día del Niño.

20. ENJOY THE 24 HOUR ARCADE
Seriously, if the kids wake up too early or they are bigger and want to spend some extra time at the arcade, it;s there for them. Of course Adrian was all over it, he loved it!

21. PLAY “HOWL AT THE MOON” GLOW MINI GOLF
I’ve never been in a black light mini golf, it was fun of course!!

22. EXTRA MUST TO-DO!
Make sure to get a PAW PASS, this is a package deal that includes several activities together for the kids like the creation station, bowling, mini golf and it’s much better than buying them separately. Great deal!

21 COSAS QUE HACER EN EL GREAT WOLF LODGE

 

Nos invitaron hace poco al resort Great Wolf Lodge a pasar un fin de semana para celebrar el Día del Niño, ¡qué honor! El resort está aquí cerquita en Anaheim desde hace un año y esta fue la primera vez para nosotros. Es un hotel que tiene un parque de agua techado!

En resumen, les cuento que no nos decepcionó para nada, nos encantó y lo recomiendo para familias con niños pequeños. Hay mucho que hacer ahí, vale la pena completamente.

Así que hoy les cuento como nos fue con estas 21 cosas que hacer en el Great Wolf Lodge, aquí está la lista:

1. ELIJE ENTRE UNA VARIEDAD DE SUITES FAMILIARES
Hay suites temáticas y suites regulares, donde caben familias pequeñas o super grandes. Las temáticas tienen un espacio especial para los niños con literas! Nosotros nos alojamos en una suite familiar normal y pienso que el tamaño era bastante bueno, tenía hasta un sofá, una mesa, una nevera y un microondas (perfecto si quieren dejar unos snacks o comida extra).

2. TÓMENSE FOTOS CON WILEY Y VIOLET
Tan pronto como lleguen aprenderán todo acerca de la familia de personajes del Lodge, nosotros vimos Wiley y a Violet varias veces y los niños no perdieron la oportunidad de abrazarlos y tomarse fotos (y nosotros también). Con el paquete de bienvenida, recibimos un todos un set de orejas de lobo. Mayita y Adrian se las pusieron todo el tiempo.

3. VISITA LA “CREATION STATION”
¡Oh, la “Creation Station”! Aquí es donde los niños pueden elegir su personaje favorito y traerlo a la vida. Pueden elegir un outfit y añadir accesorios. Maya eligió a Violet la lobita con un outfit de senderismo y Adri eligió Wiley el lobo con un outfit de natación. Hasta los cambiaban cada noche para dormir, jeje!

4. JUEGUEN MAGICQUEST
Magicquest es un juego interactivo que comienza con una varita especial que incluye poderes especiales únicos para cada niño. Básicamente, hay un montón de estaciones Magicquest alrededor del resort y con la varita, los niños juegan de un lado a otro. A Adrian le encantó esto y lo dejamos ir por muchos de los pisos para que jugara.

5. MUCHAS OPCIONES PARA COMER
Hay un restaurante a la carta y un restaurante de estilo bufét. También hay un lugar de pizza con sándwiches y ensaladas y un lugar con pasteles y jugos frescos. Hay bastantes lugares para comer alrededor, también hay más adentro del parque acuático. 

Nos encantó que había cócteles y cerveza disponible en el parque acuático. Y también, te dejan entrar en el parque acuático con cualquier comida que compres dentro del resort. A mi me encantó esto porque así me pude sentar tranquila y disfrutar algo rico mientras los niños estaban en el agua (vean el punto número 6!).

6. DISFRUTEN UN RICO CAFÉ
Como buena adicta al café que soy, me emocioné de ver que había buen café! jeje. Tienen un Dunkin Donuts adentro del resort  y se llena todas las mañanas, hay colas enormes pero ellos ofrecen un montón de opciones de café. Esperé hasta un poco más tarde (para evadir la cola) y me compré café frío favorito y lo disfruté al lado de Derek en el lugar del punto número 14.

7. DISFRUTEN DEL PARQUE DE AGUA EXCLUSIVO
El hecho de que la habitación incluye entrada al parque de agua es super chévere, además, está abierto de 9 am a 9 pm. Pueden disfrutar de varias horas ahí y luego ir y divertirse con otras atracciones o descansar en la habitación y luego regresar. Está abierto sólo para los huéspedes del resort y esto lo hace muy familiar, me gustó mucho el ambiente familiar dentro del parque de agua.

8. EL RETO DE LOS OBSTÁCULOS EN EL AGUA
Es una zona de diversión donde los niños y los adultos pueden pasar de un lado al otro de la piscina en troncos flotantes y hojas de lirio. Maya y Adrian lo hicieron varias veces y porsupuesto fascinados.

9. ZONA DE BEBÉS Y NIÑOS PEQUEÑOS
Un lindo lugar para los bebés y niños pequeños, mi kiddos no usar esta zona pero recuerdo los días, esto es esencial.

10. SIMULADOR DE SURF
Adrian me encantó esto, creo que es una gran opción para los niños mayores (9 y hasta).

11. PISCINA DE OLAS
Esta piscina es simplemente una manera divertida de pasar algún tiempo en el agua relajante, que era uno de nuestros go-to’s.

12. A DIVERTIRSE EN EL RÍO 
Este río es bastante rápido! De todas las atracciones del parque, aquí fue donde pasamos la mayoría del tiempo. Derek y los niños jugaron a la ere ahí adentro y lo pasaron de maravilla (vena las fotos!!).

13. TRATAR A LOS NIÑOS AL SPA SCOOPS
Todo es temático con dulces y helados, ofrecen diferentes paquetes para niños sólo o para adultos y niños. Maya consiguió una tiara y un marco especiales, un helado con sabor a loción de muestreo, olor de pelo y aplicación de brillo de labios.

14. A DESCANSAR EN LA PISCINA AL AIRE LIBRE
Esta opción es realmente agradable porque se puede sentir la luz del sol y el aire exterior durante un tiempecito. Aquí en el sur de California no se pone tan frío así que seguro que no es tan frío durante el invierno también.

15. DISFRUTEN DEL RESTAURANTE AFUERA 
Cuando estás en el Great Wolf Lodge tienes que comer en el Grizzly Jack’s Bar and Grill, este fue mi lugar favorito, pueden disfrutar del aire libre por un tiempo y comer comida deliciosa. Derek se tomó una cervecita y yo mi café mientras los niños jugaban en la piscina.

16. VAYAN AL TEATRO XD
Aquí en este teatro pasan shows en 4 dimesiones, son muy chéveres e intensos! Los niños tuvieron se metieron en uno con los hijos de mi amiga Vanessa, dura unos 10 minutos, pudimos verlos afuera desde unas pantallitas, y porsupuesto querían hacer ver mas shows apenas salieron!

17. LA HORA DEL CUENTO (INTERACTIVA)
Tienen un espectáculo bellísimo con personajes que se mueven y luego una persona del resort viene y lee un libro gigante, es muy mágico, me encantó ver a los niños participar en esto.

18. BOWLING EN FAMILIA
Es una cancha chiquitica con pelotas de bowling más pequeñas fácil para toda la familia.

19. ACTIVIDADES DIARIAS PARA NIÑOS
Siempre tienen un montón de actividades como pintura de cara y crafts todos los días a ciertas horas. Los niños hicieron una mini piñata para celebrar el Día del Niño.

20. MAQUINITAS ABIERTAS LAS 24 HORAS
En serio, si los niños se despiertan demasiado temprano o son más grandes y quieren pasar algún tiempo extra en la arcada, está ahí para ellos. Por supuesto Adrian estaba en todo, me encantó!

21. A JUGAR “HOWL AT THE MOON” MINI GOLF FOSFORESCENTE
Nunca he estado en un mini golf de luz negra, fue divertido por supuesto!!

22. ¡UN TIP EXTRA!
Asegúrese de obtener un PAW PASS, este es un paquete que incluye varias actividades juntas para los niños como la “creation station”, juego de bowling, mini golf y más. Es mucho mejor que comprarlos por separado. ¡Una super oferta!
